I wanted to end my blog with getting into shape and feeling great. This article is about how this lady move from one city to another and all the walking that she was not use to. She learned the proper way to balance herself and be able to walk with out hurting with the help of her yoga instructor. Her instructor gave her good advice but it was up to her to keep in mind what she has learned. Having good posture is hard. As a student you have heavy books to carry on your back and it is harder for females in my opinion than males. Just understand the basic of what is the proper way in order to walk is important. In the south some people have to re lie on cars rather than walking. It is important that everyone gets some type of physical challenge. I depend on my vehicle instead of walking. I also am guilty of parking up really close to the door so that I don’t have far to walk. I have recently started parking way out so that I can get more exercise. This article is great in that she could go back to doing her yoga with a different instructor and that the new instructor was able to help her get into the habit of walking properly. There should be more other classes that should show students perhaps the proper way of handling a book sac and being able to walk for long periods of time without getting tire or having swelling going on.

This article is bananas. This article is a real eye opener. How do people have time to sit around make up fictional information and then put it on a web page to make it seem true. This is wild. It is amazing how they try to get you to look at there web page until you actually look at it and how they have their photo which will drive you in closer to believe that it is really a legit source. You have to be real careful what you are looking at. I can’t even believe that at 9/11 people was setting up fake 9/11 web address and preying on innocent people. I am glad they gave helpful information on how to find out which is fake and which is not. It is important that people must find out that they need to look more closely to these different web pages because someone can get really hurt. To those people who make up these different web hoaxes need to pay a fine and spend time in jail. I think that this should be some type of criminal offense. I all ways tell my children that when they are on the internet that they have to be careful because they may never know who the other person on the internet may be. I like having access to the internet, but it is a select few who keeps this happiness away from the good folks who need it to gather information. The information in this article was very informative. Everyone needs to read and get an idea of what is going on.

In this article letting us know that Christmas is on the way and the way Wal-mart is trying to prepare for this holiday season. I am not ready for this holiday season. I have kids and you know that they are. In this article Wal-mart is trying to make items more affordable this year. The only thing that some people complain about is the layaway. People would pick up items and layaway and just pay on the layaway all along with out having to pay that money out at one time. I don’t think that this year that people will go out and spend that much money the way the economy is today. I think that wal-mart need to reevaluate and look at a shoppers point of view. There are many deparment stores who are cutting back hours on employee and just trying to keep the stores open. I have not seen many items on sale as I have in the past. I just try to bargin shop. Wal-mart does offer the option of getting a credit card, but everyone don’t have good credit and not everyone can qualify for a credit card. I think that the after Thanksgiving sale brings offere really good sale items and this year Wal-mart will be open on Thanksgiving day and offering sales for that day. There has to be some way in which Wal-mart could help with those who can not afford to buy but make it avaliable so that the person could purchase items for their child. I think that Wal-mart is trying to help the consumers but I don’t think that it will work for me.

We are really in any economic crisis. People now can not afford to buy medication, food, or any of our necessities. Times are really hard now for even the average citizen. That is why it is import for everyone to get register and vote. It is a time for change. The poor is getting poorer and the rich even richer. I work for a major chain company who offers generic drugs for a cost of four dollars for a thirty day supply and ten dollars for a ninety day supply. See if you invest in a ninety day supply, you will save at least two dollars. Do you know that the majority of the customers whom I ask if they want to do the ninety day supply can not afford that price. Many people I can agree with do stop taking their medicine and even take it every other day or even when they think they needed. This is also another health risk factor. You are advised to speak with your doctor who prescribed you medication and see what other alternatives you can use. Another advice is that drug representatives visit different doctors office and inform them of various medication and also give some samples and also leave discount coupon. I would advise anyone who visit the doctor that they do ask for samples or even coupons. Another suggestion would be call up the company ask them if they have samples or even coupons. Most drug companies will send you the medication at no cost. I would even suggest doing mail order that could save you lots of money. It cost a lot of money just to stay healthy. So do your best. Even try over the counter drug also.

With the stock market up and down people just do not know what to do now. Especially in the housing market. This article is very informative advising you on what you need to know about home loans and how it may affect you not only now but also in the long run. There are so many people who are loosing there jobs and home. People with jobs can just make ends meet. If there is an increase in interest rate goes up and that also causes an increase in your mortgage rate also. With today’s economy people have to really get out and work. As Todd stated “when income falls down the demand for housing falls” Since June of this year there are more vacant homes. Even rental houses is down. This is the highest vacancy rate since the 1950′s. Mrs. Colleen stated that ” many people losing their homes in Southern California used to work at mortgage and real estate companies”. Now what does this tell you? Something is not going on the right way. People are just in an economic crisis.

The article also talk about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac how they are going to put a freeze on those home who are “falling back” but yet there are other fees that are attached and not being looked at. It is suggested that price stay low for at least a year before you can see an increase. We need to keep a watchful eye on the market especially now that it is election year once again. I hope that we can get the change we need to help boost our economy.

This article is about accuracy. The information we receive off the inter-net weather it is factual or not. How can we trust anything that we read when there are so many people hacking in and changing information. It is amazing how people can go in and just change things around an d the time frame it takes to get this all corrected.

When I go and look up information I already assume that the information is correct. I had no idea that some one can change things around and just mislead people. I think that Wikipedia should reevaluate there open door policy to try and keep out those “troll and vandals.” I do like the fact that you must preregister prior to posting any articles but still who knows if that person is really being truthful about their registration information.

We must respect peoples time and efforts. You have well known scholars who take their precious time and effort to compile all these entries and for someone to come in and change that. There should be some type of way to keep from changing any of the information. Yes, there should be updates added in but it is missing something. Then you have to hire some one to watch over and make sure not changes has occurred. This also is added wasted time. There should be some type of a waiting time period so that when someone does try to change information they will be able to correct in a timely matter. I think Wikipedia should get a grade of C so they can work on improving changes!

This article was really informative. I am one of those students who wait until the very last minute and work on research project. I feel that I do my very best when I am under pressure. I was impressed how they made the comparison with the word diet. As a student under pressure we do “want it our way”. Many students like my self come from small community colleges and was not exposed to writing papers or research until coming into a university. I had no idea all the hard work you have to put into it. I am so guilty of just Google for obtain all my information. I really did not know which way to even begin. I just felt that the correct way was just looking it up on the computer. I do agree with the author when they said that student research is declining. There should be other ways to help students in this matter, not just sending them out and expect them to know how exactly it should be done. I also agree with the author Burzio, when she states that “having little patience for dealing with complex on line library catalogs, searching stacks, or standing in lie to photocopy.” I am a commuter student and I have to get all that I can on the two days a week that I am here. It is also hard when you are a parent with kids and trying to show them the right way in to researching a project. When I was growing up there was no computer in the home so you had to use an encyclopedia and now most family don’t even have an encyclopedia they have computers. So which is the correct way!

The article I chose was from Newsweek. The article was about what we should do about our money. As you know the stock market has been down for several weeks. It seem as if we are falling into a recession. You are not sure where to invest your hard earned money. I think that the government should help with crisis. There are also predictions that the market will continue to go down even more in the near future.

The journalist states “that there was 11 bank failures that required FDIC coverage of depositors” fund .”The journalist also gives good advice in letting you know that you should make sure your deposits is under FDIC limits and that you should stay with government-back money-market funds or bank money-market deposit accounts. One good advice is always keep a lookout on where your money is and make sure that it is growing any interest. Also to make sure that you look over your insurance policies because most of these “top business” own smaller companies, so you need to really just need to reexamine all of your assets.

It is only a matter of time that if the government do not step in that everything is going to just fall apart. You will have people scrambling around trying to get what little bit of money they have and just going back into the old days and putting away there money themselves. There are some people who do not really understand what is going on. I just want the crisis to be fixed so that our future generations do not have to encounter the same problem.

It is amazing how technology has changed over the years. We can access so much information right at our fingertips. When doing resarchpapers many of us do not really examine the information we obtain. We just go about researching the best way we know how. I have went out and brought a book to explain to me about how to research and what are the do’s and don’t. I think that there should be some type of class which students can attend to help them gain more insight on how to analyze materials they are researching. I do not think that there should be any type of “literacy skill” testing. This type of class should be informative. I wished as a student that I would have taken this library class earlier in my academic school year. I have so much respect for the job that a librarian has to do.

As a parent, I can only imagine all the advancement in technology my children will endure. I remember doing research using an encyclopedia and when I enter in college I began to use more of the on-line journals and articles. My kids don’t even know what an encyclopedia is. Having to use the Internet has its advantages as well as disadvantages, but I still think that it has made it much easier to gain information much faster than ever. I agree with Diana G. Oblinger when she said “All of us are now going to the Internet because it’s convenient.” It is our job to find out what is the scholarly information and what is not. We all need a little guidance.

Why Libraries and Librarians are not obsolete!

In today’s society we depend so much on technology. We want easy access to everything. The question we are exploring is do we really need a libraries and do we really need librarians? It is in my opinion that we do still need to depend on the library and librarians. In the beginning before even the internet became available to us we all relied on researching data or information at the library. Now we want to be able to access information right at our fingertips. The copyright laws are in place to prevent most of the information from even being accessed from the internet. With all the natural disasters that have occurred with in the past couple of years there should be some way in which libraries should be able to save collections for our future generations to be able to access.
Librarians are there to help us when we don’t know which way to go. We need librarians to help us to find books that we need, to help us gather information when we are researching a paper (pointing and directing us in the right direction). Not everyone have the option of having access to the internet and not everyone can afford books. The library allows us to have the best of both worlds. We can go to the library and use the internet that is there and we can check-out books that we are not able to buy. We can have the librarians to help guide us to the information that we need and keep the library with all books and special collections because they are irreplaceable.
Libraries have been around for many years. The internet you can find almost anything, but the information that you are searching for may not be accurate. The librarians helps us to understand that not everything that is on the internet is real documented sources.
